Folu Odimayo was born in Lagos, Nigeria and brought up in Sutton, South west London, where he started his journey into dance at the Glenthorne High School for Performing Arts where he was a member of the AD1 youth dance company. Odimayo continued his training in 2013 when he joined The Place CAT scheme, whilst also becoming a member of the National Youth Dance Company under the guest artistic directorship of Akram Khan and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

In 2015 Odimayo moved to Leeds where he attained his BPA (Hons) from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. During his time at NSCD Odimayo worked with several choreographers such as Gary Clarke, Deed, Fernanda Prata and Francessco Scavetta.

As a freelancer Odimayo has worked with Joe Moran, Tribe// dance company, Gavin Coward’s Paradox Pictures and Michael Keegan Dolan.
