‘Fallen’ restaging with Rambert School
Russell Maliphant Dance Company is restaging Fallen, originally commissioned for BalletBoyz, on second-year students from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
Fallen, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, was originally made in 2013 for the ten dancers of Balletboyz - The Talent and won the National Dance Award for Best Modern Choreography that year. Extracts of the ensemble piece, set to music by Armand Amar, will now be performed by a group of Rambert School students as they prepare for professional careers in dance.
The restaging will be overseen by RMDC dancer Edd Arnold, a graduate of Rambert School. The work will be presented at Rambert School later this month and will feature in the Next Generation Festival at the Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House in June.
Amanda Britton, Chief Executive, Principal and Artistic Director of Rambert School says. "It is incredibly exciting for our students to be able to perform this award-winning work. Working with a wide variety of choreographers is an essential part of their training and we are very grateful to RMDC for giving us this opportunity. We're thrilled to have graduate Edd Arnold working on the piece with our students.
Fallen, as well as works by Daniel Davidson, Ana Maria Lucaciu, Matsena Productions, Jessica Nupen, Seeta Patel, Thick and Tight and Wayne McGregor, will be performed this month as part of [Pre]View at Rambert School - for more information and to book click here: https://www.rambertschool.org.uk/get-involved/events/preview-rambert-school/
