Russell Maliphant to give keynote at IADMS 2023 at Middlesex University

Russell Maliphant will give the keynote speech to begin the day at IADMS Regional Meeting on January 14 2023 at Middlesex University (Hendon, London).

The day will explore the practices and principles that underpin dance science research with faculty from a variety of dance genres., and includes practical and theoretical sessions from researchers and teachers covering a range of topics from Irish dance, inclusive dance practice, embedding evidence-based practice in vocational training, hormones and performance, and a somatic framework for teaching.

Russell’s keynote will discuss how elements of anatomical studies and research have influenced his creative process, as well as his ongoing movement practice and teaching. 

The presentation will include some 70 photos illustrating topics such as tensegrity and bio-tensegrity, Anatomy Trains, Fascial lines, ideas of Flow and Sequencing and the aesthetic implications of shifts in conceptualisation and awareness.

The IADMS programme will begin at 9.30am and will be live-streamed online to virtual attendees worldwide.
