Russell Maliphant, a former dancer at London's Royal Ballet, explores the phenomena of gravity and balance, works with speed and movement, and sculpts bodies with dark-light lighting. Each of his works is a unique experience, sublimated by his collaboration with lighting designer Michael Hulls.
In Spiral Pass, Russell Maliphant questions the traditional figure of pas de deux, drawing inspiration from both breakdance and the experiences and qualities of his dancers.
